If we had to do it all again, we would choose Matt Baker a second time. He was always friendly and smiling. He was willing to work with our weird schedule which kept him busy many weekends and evenings. He was also understanding of my desire to not talk on the phone and kept most communications to emails or texts (it’s surprisingly hard to find someone willing to do that!). "Matt was a great choice to list our home. We were under contract within a month even during the holidays. Matt was able to give solid guidance on pricing and being prepared to market our home. During the sales process, there were unusual requests from the buyer that Matt handled with great care and attention to detail. Communication was always responsive, again, even during the holidays. Matt is comfortable using text, email, etc. to communicate which is a big plus when you don't always have time for a call. Matt also represented us as buyers and was very patient during the selection process and offered great guidance without injecting opinions that could sway us. "From the start, Matt was courteous, positive, knowledgeable, realistic, and unbelievably kind. I spoke with him over the phone about the possibility of him being the selling agent for our home. He asked my schedule and insisted on meeting face to face to discuss the details rather than continuing a sterile phone conversation. He came over to the house that afternoon! We talked for an hour (getting to know each other) on my back porch, he then walked around the house giving some tips on little things we could do to prepare our home for a quick sale. He patiently walked me through comps for the area, explained his marketing strategy, and discussed a pricing spectrum for the home (including the estimated final numbers for my take home).
We took all of his advice! We power-washed, painted the shutters, manicured the landscaping, touched up paint, made some purchases to stage the house (which we returned!), and had the house thoroughly cleaned. Matt then brought in a professional photographer to really showcase the highlights of our home. After receiving the pictures, he was a little underwhelmed by the angles the photographer utilized in certain shots. So, he asked the gentleman to come back, and personally directed him on exactly what he imagined—looking at every picture to proof it for the listing.
We went live with our listing on a Thursday evening. By Friday morning, we had over 1,500 views and a showing lined up. By Saturday morning, we had three showings and over 3,000 views. When the offers started rolling in, I panicked—wanting to jump on the first respectable offer. Matt calmed me down and coached me to be patient. In short, in less than 48 hours we sold our house for $2,000 over asking in a cash deal with a similar backup offer to boot!
I wouldn't recommend Matt to you as an agent (buying or selling). I would implore you to use him. Have one conversation (wait until you hear his laugh!). He will knowledgeably and unbiasedly tell you what you need to hear, while also seeing the same beauty and upside that you see in your home. Matt was our agent. Now, Matt is our friend."

I have only one warning to anyone considering hiring Matt to sell their home....be sure you want to sell, because he will definitely get it done! Within weeks of putting our house on the market we had multiple viewings. We were able to sell much quicker than anticipated and Matt helped us find and get into our current new home. Matt's work ethic and drive are probably the best I've seen. His professionalism and accessibility were way more than my wife and I could have hoped for. I would recommend Mr. Baker to any of our friends and family looking to buy or sell a home!!
